When we started building Trainbase, we studied every corner of the fitness technology landscape. The clearest problem was not a missing feature. It was the business model. Standard coaching software pricing is misaligned with the financial reality of being a coach: the bill moves in steps, and the steps land exactly when you grow.
So we built our model on a different principle: one flat price per client, $10 AUD per month, with no tiers. This is the thinking behind it.
the flaw in tiered pricing
Most coaching platforms use tiered pricing. The structure looks reasonable on the surface: more clients, more value, a higher price. The problem is at the margins. Sign your 16th client on a 15-client tier and you move up a whole tier for one person. The bill steps up overnight, and it is the same step whether you go on to fill the new tier or sit one client over the line for a year.
| a tiered plan | trainbase | |
|---|---|---|
| a client inside a tier | the bill does not move | +$10 AUD / mo |
| a client over the boundary | the bill jumps a whole tier | +$10 AUD / mo |
| your 16th, 31st, 51st | a step you have to plan for | +$10 AUD / mo, like any other |
a bill that jumps when you sign one more client is working against the only thing that matters.
software should scale with you, not against you
Our pricing philosophy is one idea: our success should be a direct, linear function of yours. So we abandoned tiers entirely. Your first client costs $10 AUD a month. Your 16th costs $10 AUD. Your 51st costs $10 AUD. No cliffs, no jump to absorb, and a cost you can forecast to the dollar whether you coach five people or five hundred.
- per client
- $10 AUD
- next client
- +$10 AUD
- per client

This structure creates mutual accountability between us and you. We are incentivised to build software that helps you attract and keep clients, because our revenue rises only when your roster does. We grow with you, not by building pricing gates you have to break through.
why one price, deliberately
The model is not arbitrary. One price per client is simple to understand and impossible to misread: there is one number to remember and one sum to do. It also holds us to you. We earn more only when you coach more people, so the product has to keep helping you win clients and keep them.
a true Trainerize and Everfit alternative
For a coach weighing the options, the difference is structural, not cosmetic. Comparing one tiered platform to another is just choosing which set of cliffs is slightly less steep. Trainbase changes the sum: you add clients, deliver your service, and know what the bill will be before it arrives. The attention you used to spend managing a plan goes back into coaching.
| tiered software | trainbase | |
|---|---|---|
| cost of your next client | nothing, or a tier jump | +$10 AUD / mo |
| pricing cliffs | at every tier | none |
| predictable cost | only within a tier | always, $10 AUD x clients |
| as you grow | the bill jumps in steps | the bill follows your client count |
the future is aligned
This is more than a pricing strategy. It is the logical expression of the whole platform: a unified system where the success of trainers and the progress of clients are interconnected, and the price reflects it. We believe a coach's software bill should follow their roster one client at a time, with no jump to brace for. That is what one flat price per client is built to keep.
the honest answers
How much does Trainbase actually cost?
$10 AUD per client per month. Coach twenty people and it is $200 AUD a month. There are no tiers, no setup fee, and no per-feature upsell.
What happens to my bill when I add a client?
It goes up by exactly $10 AUD a month. There is no tier to break through and no overnight jump: your next client costs what your first one did.
