cookies

Effective: 28 October 2026

Every cookie and browser store Trainbase Pty Ltd (ACN 688 643 656, ABN 93 688 643 656) uses, and why each one is there.

the short version

Trainbase uses a handful of its own cookies, each so the app works for you. None of them tracks you. We run no analytics, no advertising and no tracking from other sites, and we don't sell what's in your browser to anyone.

A cookie is a small note a website asks your browser to keep and send back on your next visit. Most of ours are set only once you sign in.

the cookies we set

  • sb-jiouxallgtddwxnkihvy-auth-token (it may be split into parts ending .0, .1)

    What it does

Keeps you signed in. Our servers refresh it as you use the app.

    How long it lasts

Until you sign out, or up to 400 days

    Needed?

Essential. Without it you can't sign in.

  • tz

    What it does

Tells our servers your time zone, so "today" on your screens is your own day.

    How long it lasts

    A year

    Needed?

Essential to the app working as you expect. Without it, dates fall back to your gym's time zone.

  • tb_hat

    What it does

For a gym owner who also coaches: remembers whether you last looked as the owner or as a coach. It holds your login's id beside the choice, so on a shared phone nobody else gets your view. Only our servers can read it.

    How long it lasts

    A year

    Needed?

Essential to that switch. Without it you always start as the owner.

Trainbase used an older time-zone cookie called tb_tz. Nothing reads it now, and the app deletes it when it finds one.

These are all first-party cookies: only trainbase.io sets them, and your browser sends them only to trainbase.io.

other things kept in your browser

These aren't cookies, but they work in a similar way, so we list them too. None is sent to anyone.

  • tb-theme

    What it does

Remembers whether you chose light, dark or match your phone.

  • A note that the photo outline tool is downloaded

    What it does

Saves downloading it again. It holds only the tool's version, never anything about you or your body.

  • Your rest timer during a workout

    What it does

Keeps the timer running if the page reloads. It is cleared when you close the tab.

  • Notifications

    What it does

If you allow notifications, your browser keeps a small helper for them. It stores nothing about you and saves no pages.

other companies' cookies

  • Demonstration videos play from YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) or from Vimeo with its do-not-track setting on. Either may still keep its own data in your browser once you press play.
  • Video calls run on our video calling service. Joining a call loads its software, which may keep its own data while the call runs.
  • Paying happens on our payment provider's own checkout page, which sets its own cookies under its own policy.

turning cookies off

You can see, block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block Trainbase's sign-in cookie you won't be able to sign in. Blocking the others means the app forgets your time zone or your view, and nothing more.

We don't show a cookie banner, because we set no optional cookies to ask about. If that ever changes, we'll ask first.

changes

If we add or change a cookie, we update this page and its effective date.
